Author Guidelines
Thank you for considering the JHSN for the publication of your research. We welcome high-quality, original, and impactful contributions from scholars worldwide. These guidelines provide important information on manuscript preparation, submission, peer review, publication ethics, and editorial policies. Authors are encouraged to read these guidelines carefully before submitting their manuscripts.
1. Before You Submit
Originality
Submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by another journal or publisher. Authors are responsible for ensuring the authenticity of their work and for obtaining permission to reproduce any copyrighted material where necessary. All submissions are screened using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts containing plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, falsification, or other forms of research misconduct will be rejected immediately.
Peer Review
JHSN operates a double-blind peer review system in which the identities of both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review process. Each manuscript is evaluated by independent experts based on originality, methodological rigor, significance, clarity, ethical compliance, and relevance to the journal's aims and scope. Editorial decisions are made solely on scholarly merit.
Language
Manuscripts must be written in clear, concise, and grammatically correct English. Authors whose first language is not English are strongly encouraged to have their manuscripts professionally edited prior to submission. The editorial office reserves the right to request language revisions before peer review if the quality of English substantially affects readability.
2. Article Types
JHSN publishes several categories of scholarly work, including:

3. Manuscript Preparation
Authors should prepare manuscripts in Microsoft Word using a clear and logical structure. A typical manuscript should include the following components:
- Title

- Four to eight keywords

The abstract should provide a concise summary of the study, including the research background, objectives, methodology, principal findings, and major conclusions. Figures, tables, citations, and undefined abbreviations should not be included.
Authors should provide 4 to 8 keywords that accurately reflect the main topics of the manuscript and improve discoverability through academic databases and search engines.
All references must follow the APA (7th Edition) citation style. Every source cited in the manuscript must appear in the reference list, and all references should include Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) whenever available.
4. Figures and Tables
Figures and tables should be embedded within the manuscript close to their first citation. Each figure and table must be numbered consecutively and accompanied by a clear, informative caption. Images should be of publication quality with sufficient resolution to ensure readability in both online and print formats. Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce any copyrighted figures or tables.
5. Research Ethics
Authors are expected to adhere to internationally recognized standards of research ethics and integrity.
Where applicable, manuscripts must include:
- Approval from an appropriate institutional ethics committee or review board.
- A statement confirming informed consent for research involving human participants.
- Compliance with applicable animal welfare regulations for research involving animals.
- Disclosure of all funding sources.
- A declaration of any actual or potential conflicts of interest.
Failure to comply with ethical requirements may result in rejection or withdrawal of the manuscript.
6. Submission Process
Manuscripts should be submitted through the journal's online submission system.
A complete submission should include:
- The manuscript in Microsoft Word format.
- A cover letter summarizing the significance and originality of the work.
- Figures and supplementary files, where applicable.
The cover letter should confirm that the manuscript is original, has not been published previously, and is not under consideration elsewhere.
7. Revision Process
If revisions are requested, authors should submit a revised manuscript together with a detailed response letter addressing each reviewer comment individually. Revisions should be submitted within the timeframe specified by the editorial office. Failure to respond adequately to reviewer comments may delay or affect the editorial decision.
8. Copyright and Open Access
The Journal of Human-Social Nexus is a fully open-access journal. All published articles are freely and permanently available online without subscription or access restrictions.
Authors retain copyright of their work. Articles are published under a Creative Commons (CC) license, allowing readers to read, download, distribute, and reuse published content in accordance with the terms of the applicable license.
9. APC
The standard Article Processing Charge (APC) for accepted manuscripts is USD 1,400, covering editorial management, peer review, professional production, online publication, DOI registration, digital archiving, and long-term preservation.
To support researchers during the journal's establishment, all APCs are fully waived for manuscripts accepted on or before 31 December 2028. No publication fee will be charged during this period. Following the waiver period, APCs will apply in accordance with the journal's prevailing publication policy.
10. Editorial Timeline
JHSN is committed to providing an efficient and transparent editorial process. Under normal circumstances, manuscripts undergo an initial editorial assessment within one week, followed by a double-blind peer review that typically takes four to six weeks. Authors generally receive the first editorial decision within five to seven weeks of submission. Accepted articles are published online shortly after completion of copyediting, typesetting, proofreading, and final author approval. Actual processing times may vary depending on reviewer availability and the extent of revisions required.
11. Publication Ethics
JHSN follows the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing and adheres to the ethical guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Authors, reviewers, editors, and editorial board members are expected to maintain the highest standards of integrity, transparency, confidentiality, fairness, and professionalism throughout the publication process.
The journal does not tolerate plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabricated or falsified data, citation manipulation, authorship misconduct, or any other unethical publishing practices. Appropriate action will be taken in accordance with international publishing standards whenever ethical concerns arise.
